Arresting and Reversing Coronary Heart Disease by Switching to Whole Foods Plant-Based Diet

The concept of eating vegan diets or low-fat vegetarian diets for reversing the symptoms of heart disease has been around for more than 20 years. Many scientists have given their facts and figures supporting this idea.

Although the findings were interesting, the results were required to be verified on larger studies.

Another study was published in the year 2014 when experts conducted an experiment on 198 patients to know if the strict plant-based diet can make any change in their disease condition or not. Well, this time, the results were really surprising. It was observed that almost 177 patients out of 198 reported a significant reduction in the symptoms. Moreover, 22 per cent of these had reliable disease reversal by test results. It is important to know that this study did not just eliminate the use of animal-based products; rather, at the same time, they also decided to avoid nuts, avocadoes, fruit juice, excess salt, refined carbohydrates, processed foods and added oils as well. Along with minimal prescribed medication, patients were also indulged in some physical activities.

It is important to mention that such type of diets includes so many restrictions; in order to avail desired results, the patient must be determined enough to follow. It is important to enhance the nutritional profile while improving activity levels during this diet.

Medical health experts advise coronary heart patients to eat more vegetables, fruits and whole grains while reducing their intake for animal products. You can also think of following the Mediterranean style diet, which focuses on more fruits andvegetables while limiting the meat intake.

The scientifically proven facts advise including a plant-based diet to the routines of a coronary heart disease patient. It may not just reduce the symptoms; rather, it may also reverse the condition by a considerable level.
